Slope Stabilisation Reinforcement
SC Grid™ (Uniaxial) is design for civil construction project works on or around slope generally demand site specific protective measures for its stability as there is every possibility of collapse of the structure if the slope is unstable and subjected to erosion.
A cost effective solution is design to mitigate way on a segmental of retaining wall being well reinforced which is straightforward, but requires discipline geotechnical engineering practices for subsequent backfilling and compaction.
There are several manufacturers and a few different styles, but SC uniaxial Grid™, a polypropylene geogrids of all types is best described as it result to high tensile strength that is able to pin between layers of retaining wall and extends back into the soils the wall is retaining to lock together those blocks or stone wall with the soils behind it.
Adding SC uniaxial Grid™ to a retaining wall recruits the retained soils as helpers in permanent retention essentially making the retaining wall far more massive than the weight of the block or stone alone.
Separately, there are number of techniques now in use to stabilize an unstable slope. In many cases it has been experienced that the denuded slope with an angle higher than the angle of repose generally fail quickly if the soil surface is not covered with a suitable erosion control material in spite of adopting all possible geotechnical precautions.
